We made the rear lexan window in house, very light weight with beautiful fitment. Although the RX-8 comes with aluminum rear doors we decided to go with lighter weight fiberglass ones to save additional weight. 

Kyle is quite literally crashed out on the floor of his shop, so I will update the blog.

As you can see, he’s made some serious progress in the past few days. The new Race Pack IQ3 dash is installed in a dash that is a from a stock RX-8, but with carbon fiber panels built for this car (and that will be available for sale).

Additionally, the 550-hp 13B has been mated to a new Jerico 4-speed dogring gearbox, with an Exedy clutch, and new transmission and engine mounts have been fabricated. Now that the drivetrain is in there, we can begin plumbing everything around it, including the braking system, interior, and the rest of the engine bay…including the big present that Turbonetics sent us.

We have been making great progress over the past week and weekend, although it may not look like much has changed it’s the small things and attention to detail that count in the end.

The New Brains for the 8. With the demand on the cars and engines increasing, the quest for data and control becomes an essential. We have had great success running the Haltech E 8 fuel management system in our RX-7 so we felt with this car it was an opportune time to up grade to the new Haltech Sport 2000 computer and the race pack IQ3 Data Logger dash.  We are really looking forward to playing with the new software and logging dash.
